Maryln is a devoted wife and mother. She is passionate about theatre and the Opera, and is a very proud “stage mom.”

Maryln was diagnosed with Nonhodgkins Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Just two weeks later, her husband lost his job. The sudden changes put a financial strain on the Ferguson family. Fortunately, A Message of Hope Cancer Fund was able to help support the family and cover a mortgage payment during this tough time. Maryln’s husband is now back to work, while she continues to fight.

Local Non-profit Supports Families Admidst Cancer Struggles.
In addition to the already burdensome costs of treating cancer, when a child or family member is critically ill, one parent may have to leave his or her job to care for them. This makes it difficult for families to cover expenses they previously did not have difficulty with, such as utility bills, rent or mortgage payments, rising gas costs, and other everyday expenses. MHCF offers families assistance with some of these costs.
